This Week's Top 10

1. Spin class has become my new favorite thing.  I've gone three times this week and absolutely love it.  It's a fun way to workout plus it's almost a full body workout. The only thing that would make it better would be if it incorporated more arms and core work.  The upbeat music and the ability to workout at your own pace are the two aspects I truly enjoy.

2. The Lilly Pulitzer after sale started yesterday. Depending what time you're reading this, you might be able to catch the end of the sale. It ends at 1pm on Friday.  The line was the worst I have ever seen it. I logged on at 8 and my number in line didn't change for about 2+ hours.  I ended up trying again later on in the afternoon and was able to score a few items I have been eyeing up for quite some time. Shop the sale here

3. This has been my go to snack this week to curb my sweet tooth after lunch/dinner.

4.Be sure to checkout my January playlist, if you haven't done so yet. It's a great pump up playlist for the weekend!

5.Checkout this video and this one (recipe here) for quick tutorials for quick healthy meals.

6. I've been eying this sleeping mask from J.Crew. It matches my one pajama set perfectly.

7. Have you made your goals for the month of resolutions for the year? I chose to do a 101 things in 1001 days list this year! It's crazy to think that once I finish it I will be 25 going on 26!

8. If you're looking for something to do this weekend, Collateral Beauty looks like a good movie to see.

9. I'm searching for a good granola bar to eat before heading to the gym. I'd love to hear any suggestions you have!

10.We had our first snow of winter come last night. It was exciting to wake up to the three inch dusting! Due to the chilly weather and snow, today's outfit will look something like this.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Conquering the Lilly After Party Sale

In case you didn't know, the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale is today beginning at 8 a.m.  Last year I got a ton of great items for my mom and myself.  However, this year I have decided not to shop the sale. I've collected quite the number of Lilly Pulitzer items the past few years, so I'm pretty satisfied with my current Lilly filled summer wardrobe. I am working on saving money for adult things like a car and moving out of my parents' house, so dropping a few hundred bucks on the sale isn't in the budget for me. I also feel like if I spend any money on clothes it should be Fall and Winter items rather than more summer clothes that I will only wear for another month and a half. We will see how good my self control is because I said I won't be logging on even just to browse, and if you know me then you know that I'm pretty much a shopaholic.

You may or may not know already, but Lilly Pulitzer rarely has large sales... in fact they only occur three times a year (June- Warehouse Sale, August, and January).  Due to the low frequency of the sale there is always a lot of hype surrounding it.  You have to be strategic about your shopping and it helps if you know some of the secrets to conquering the sales, especially the online ones. I have a few tips to help you out, in case you didn't shop the sale yet or are waiting in the over an hour long line.

Create an account
If you're able to, it's always best to create an online account ahead of time. It speeds up your checkout process. You can also save your billing information to make the check out process even quicker!

Once you're in the virtual line, DO NOT HIT REFRESH!
This is probably the biggest thing you need to know. It can be annoying waiting in line and sometimes it moves pretty slowly.  It is tempting to hit the refresh button to see if anything will change, but I'm warning you that you will regret it. Hitting the refresh button will take you to the very back of the line.

Know Your Size
It's important to know your size because all items purchased during the After party sale are final sale, which means there's no returning.

Have a Positive Attitude
Just like anything you do, there are things that might frustrate you about this sale. There's a chance that you might not get the item you've been lusting over. You might get jealous that your frenemy was able to log on and claims to have gotten everything she's been wanting from Lilly while you're still patiently waiting in the virtual line. Being optimistic through the whole shopping process will make it much more enjoyable. After all, who can be grumpy when shopping at Lilly?

Self Control
We all know that Lilly Pulitzer items rarely go on sale. It can be quite tempting to go a little overboard when shopping the online sale. Try to make a budget and stick to it. You don't want to regret over spending your money on items that you won't be able to wear much longer since the summer season is coming to a close.

Best of luck shopping!

Planning Decisions

As you have probably read by now, I love the Lilly Pulitzer agendas.  July is half way over so it's time for me to order my new agenda. Freshman and sophomore year of college I used the large style, but junior year I chose to upgrade to the jumbo size.  I enjoyed the larger version, but the spiral that held it together fell apart mid way through the year and it was a bit too large to carry around.  After last year's mishap I have decided to go back to using the large agenda. I love that the large version has two copies of the monthly outlook of each month. This allows me to keep track of sorority events on one calendar and my personal life on another. This year Lilly has come out with a covered spine version of the large agenda and I can't decide if I should purchase that one or the original version.  These are the two that I am debating between and would love to hear your thoughts!

Which one should I buy?

Lilly Pulitzer + Target

I think just about every preppy girl had a little freak out last night when the news of this went public. I know I did.  In the midst of a snowy day, this bright news brought some sunshine to my Pa life.  I've worn Lilly Pulitzer for quite some time now and I've always loved Target.  This collaboration is exciting but also leaves me with some mixed feelings.

My reactions are all over the place:

  • YAY! A store that I can purchase Lilly at without traveling too far or going online.
  • Oh no, Lilly will now be mainstream!
  • I always liked being one of the few in my area to wear Lilly and now everyone is going to be doing the same.
  • What will the quality be like?
  • I wonder how Lilly prices will fit into Target, somethings gotta give.
  • I can't wait to see all that the stores will carry!
  • I hope this won't be an online exclusive type deal.
  • I don't live in the South, will the Target stores near me even carry the collection?
  • April is the release- the perfect time to buy a bikini!

Based on the blogs I've read this morning it seems like I'm not the only one who has these mixed feelings.  What are your thoughts on the Lilly and Target collaboration?
A sneak peak from @Lillyfortarget

After doing a little bit of investigating, I've discovered a few things that I'm sure you all would love to know about:
  • The collection will launch on Sunday, April 19th
  • 250 is the magic number! That is how many pieces the line will include.  I've read that the collection will contain girl's clothing, women's and women's plus clothing, accessories, shoes for women, things for the home, beach items, travel items, and items for outdoor entertaining.
  • @Lillyfortarget is the Instagram account where you can find a sneak peak at the collection
  • @Lillyfortarget is also the official Twitter account
  • #Lillyfortarget is the hashtag- there's not much on it right now except for excited Lilly lovers.
