Early Bird Gets The Worm

I realize I have been neglecting my blogging duties for the past week or so.  Major fail.  School, sorority life, and some other things have been consuming most of my time recently.  This post is definitely going to be a little random, but I promise as the week goes on I'll be back on my regular blogging schedule.

I have reached the point in the semester where due dates for projects and exams are occurring quite frequently.  A post on surviving the end of the semester is coming in the near future!  Today is my last day of classes before thanksgiving break.  A break is definitely much needed, but I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of my time off studying for finals and finishing up some projects.

"Early Bird Gets the Worm"
Today I have two exams.  Due to a family emergency this weekend, I didn't get as much studying done as I needed to.  To make up for this, I woke up at 6 am to put in a last minute study session before my first exam.  I'd say it was rather successful because I got through my first exam without much difficulty.

Also, I have some exciting news to share with all of you.  If you follow me on any of my social media networks, you may already know! Another post to come in the near future.

I'm off to put in some last minutes studying before my exam.
Have a wonderful Monday!

Snack Time

Snack time is the best time! In case you didn't know already, I love food!  I try to eat healthy, and I am all about food that tastes good and is good for you.  Everyone enjoys trail mix, so I wanted to share with you my version of "trail mix".

It is quite simple and super easy to make.
Ingredients: Walnuts, craisins, and Ghirardelli chocolate chips.

I usually buy a bag of the chocolate chips and then I buy the other ingredients in the bulk section of the grocery store.  Pour all three ingredients into one container, mix it up, and enjoy.
This snack is perfect to keep in your purse or backpack , just make sure the chocolate doesn't melt.  I usually always have this with me.  It is a nice nutty, sweet, and chocolaty combination.  Also, it is not that bad for you.  There are a lot of unhealthier snacks out there that you could indulge in.

Blog Surfing

I don't have time to write a long post today because I am busy studying and dealing with scheduling issues.  Scheduling classes is literally the worst part of college! Anyways, I thought I would leave you all with a little something until tomorrow.

After studying for an extensive amount of time last night, I needed to wind down a little before going to bed.  What better way to wind down, than to go blog searching!  I love discovering new (to me) blogs.  I thought it would fun to share with you some of my finds.

Enjoy reading!

You Know You Love Me Xoxo

This past Friday night I decided that I just wanted to stay in and relax for once. I made dinner and dessert for my mom and I, and we watched the first half of Season one of Gossip Girl.

Dinner:
Texas toast, with sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, and basil baked in the oven.  This is so easy to make and incredibly delicious. I highly recommend it. I think it was a pinterest recipe my mom found.

Dessert:
In the past two months I have eaten ice-cream twice.  The second time was Friday night. This is huge, I used to eat a small amount of ice-cream just about every night.  In September, I decided that I needed to break my habit and make healthier choices.
On Friday night,  I cut up apples and coated them with sugar and cinnamon, and then I baked them in the oven.  Once the apples were done, we ate them over a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.  This is such a simple Fall dessert, but incredibly delicious.

Gossip Girl:

Most of you probably have read about my obsession with gossip girl.  I have watched all the seasons twice.  Everything about this show is great: the music, New York City, the romance, the cast, the plot, the fashion. It is all put together perfectly.  I wish this show was still on air.   I own the first 5 seasons, thanks to tDn.  Obviously the sixth season is on my Christmas Wish List.  Good news though, the sixth season is now on Netflix!
Are any of you Gossip Girl fans?

Advice From College Graduates

From time to time my Dad will text me a news article, a you tube video to watch, a funny picture, an inspirational quote, etc.  This morning he sent me a really great article titled "50 Things I wish I knew in College".  I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.  It is nothing earth-shattering, but as a college student each of these 50 things provided me with some perspective on life as a college student.

I think I can speak for a lot of college students when I say that we tend to get caught up in things: getting good grades, running for an officer position in your club, problems with friends, struggling financially to live "on our own", trying to stay healthy, making the right choices, and trying our best to make the decisions that will help our future.

This article touches on all of these things from the post-grad's perspective.  If you are feeling unsure of things, reading this might help you out.

I found #50 to be really interesting.  Not many people say this, so I enjoyed the fact that someone addressed the fact that after graduation life isn't all doom and gloom.

What tips do you have as college students or college graduates?

October's Daily Inspiration

Quotes are something that I find incredibly inspiring.  I have them posted all over my room, bulletin boards, and my agenda.  Those days when things just are not going your way, they are a nice little pick me up.  I have tweeted quotes in the past, but mid way through October I developed the concept of #dailyinspiration.  You are familiar with this if you already follow me on twitter
Just about once a day I try to post a quote or inspirational phrase.  I do this to help motivate myself as well as my followers.

Recently, I have noticed that a large amount of people use twitter and other forms of social media as their own personal diary.  Some people say literally whatever is on their mind, and this can sometimes be hurtful to others, intentionally or unintentionally.  Regardless, some nasty things are said about/ directed toward people, and this is unacceptable. By posting daily inspiration, I am trying to incorporate more positivity into the social media world.  After all, negativity isn't going to get you anywhere but stuck in your bad mood.

October 9:
"Nobody is in charge of your happiness, except you."
October 14:
"Success is not what you have but who you are."
October 16:
"Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching."
October 17:
"Life is meant to be a challenge, because challenges are what make you grow."
October 20:
"Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect."
October 21:
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you will criticized for it anyways."
-Eleanor Roosevelt
October 22:
"If you desire to make a difference in this world, you must be different than the rest of the world."
October 23:
"Two things define you: your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything."
October 24:
"Once you've excepted your flaws, nobody can use them against you."
October 25:
"Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
October 28:
"People with a good sense of humor have a better sense of life."
October 29:
"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway."
October 30:
"If plan A doesn't work, don't worry. There are 25 other letters in the alphabet."
October 31:
"We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly."
